Exhibitions and Audio-Visual Installations
The vast exhibition spaces at the Art Centre are all grouped under a single name - Konvikt Gallery. The gallery focuses chiefly on art work created by students of Czech and foreign art and artsed schools. It regularly displays the seminar and thesis projects of the students of the Department of Art Education and holds events of the StuArt student association of the Department of Art History. Another important activity is the exhibitions of the main and accompanying programmes of the audio-visual festivals PAF and Academia Film Olomouc. The selection of displays is supervised by the exhibition committee of the PU Art Centre.
Konvikt Gallery
The corridor on the first floor of the Art Centre is dominated by exhibition spaces. These benefit from natural light coming from the street, which enhances the atmosphere of the drawings, paintings, and photographs. The corridor on the second floor is likewise a display space. Understandable charming is also the attic (the leads are played by roof windows and easy blackout), providing an ideal setting for statues and audiovisual installations.
Plusmínus Gallery
A modest underground space with vaulted ceilings, it is an integral part of the Studio of Metalwork, Object, and Jewellery of the Department of Art Education. The exhibition programme centres on the medium of object and jewellery as the broadest concept. The gallery offers a wide range of options for site-specific installations, exhibits of small objects, and projections.
Monitor Gallery
A space for video art. Your gallery next to a coffee-vending machine. As you walk in, you can get a coffee (or any other beverage, of course), seat yourself on the bench, and watch the TV showing one of the audiovisual experiments. The gallery is open to public free of charge from Monday to Friday. The TV is on.
